Ocean Encounters, the premier dive facility in Curaçao, is a family owned and operated Gold Palm Five Star IDC PADI National Geographic Dive Center and IANTD Technical Dive Center, centrally located on the grounds of the Lions Dive Beach Resort between the Seaquarium and Mambo Beach, with three additional locations at Breezes Superclubs, Toucan Diving at Kontiki Beach, and Ocean Encounters West at Playa Kalki which can be booked thru worlddive.com. Ocean Encounters has introduced the One Stop Diving concept which will take you to ALL of Curaçao, from the Mushroom Forest and Watamula, to the Superior Producer, Tugboat, and the island of Klein Curaçao. Courses are offered from Beginners to Dive Instructor, Emergency First Response to Technical Diving, boat and shore diving every day.
Ocean Encounters’ fleet of five dive boats is prepared to cater to groups of any size and requirements. Our company’s goal is to enable you, our valuable customer, to enjoy the ultimate diving experience in a safe, family oriented, and relaxing atmosphere.
Our Boats
All of Ocean Encounters Boats are custom built for divers. The Princess, which holds up to 19 divers. Our newst addition, The Star, which holds up to 22 divers. The Cat Fever, which holds up to 12 divers. The Palavos, located at our Ocean Encounters West operation, holds up to 16 divers, and last but not least, our Sharky for 6 to 8 divers, used for drop-and-dive and student dives. Ocean Encounters adheres to all required safety standards for each ouf our vessels. Oxygen and First Aid kits, as well as life vests are always available on our boats. Our crew members are all EFR certified.
Ocean Encounters Dive team helps to maintain a professional operation. The
Retail shop is stocked full of equipment from bathing suits, t-shirts, to diving equipment.
There are over 200 Air tanks in service at Ocean Encounters. All are Hydrostatically tested every five years and visually inspected every year. The tanks are filled by a Bauer MVT26E3 Silent compressor cascaded from 30, 440CUFT High Pressure Tanks. Nitrox or Helium are available as well.
If you would like to rent equipment rest assured that every set is inspected and maintained by our certified technicians in our own fully stocked repair facility. Our Rental equipment is changed out every two years so you will never use anything that isn't in perfect working order.
