Q. What is Kids Sea Camp?

Q. What makes Kids Sea Camp different from any other Camp or Ocean Oriented program?

A. Kids Sea Camp is not just a camp. It's a family vacation, for mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, aunts and uncles. Kids Sea Camp is an event that is hosted and personalized for your children. Kids Sea Camp is different because it incorporates education of marine life, our environment, and our planet. Kids Sea Camp is a PADI event and incorporates PADI programs in every week, such as SASY, SEAL TEAM and Jr. Certification. Kids Sea Camp is sponsored by PADI Diving Society and is hosted at a PADI 5 star gold palm facility. Kids Sea Camp offers a variety of activities for children ages 4-15 and provides time together and time apart for families. Kids Sea Camp is not daycare or a kidsitting service. It is a full-scale marine adventure for your kids.

Q. What is Seal Team?

A. Scuba Diving in a shallow enclosed body of water for kids age 8 and up.

Q. Your Seal Team  program for Kids Sea Camp states ages 9 and up. My child is 8 and has been to Kids Sea Camp before and she wants to do Seal Team next year.  PADI standards say ages 8 and up for Seal Team.  Why are yours different, and can my child participate in Seal Team this year?

A. Yes. Your child can go in Seal Team at 8 years old. I personally changed Kids Sea Camp Seal Team Program to  9 years old instead of 8 allowed by PADI because I could have more control over making sure each child is in the program that will give them the most enjoyment for their age group. I do allow 8 yr olds after talking to the parents about their childrens comfort level for  Seal Team. 

At Kids Sea Camp each year, we get many  kids from around the US, Canada, and other countries that are not comfortable in the water and do not have pools or oceans nearby for regular use. Some children have never even snorkeled before and are very uncomfortable in the water. I want this to be fun and enjoyable for the kids and I like to introduce them to our underwater world at their rate of comfort.   Any child that has previously participated in Kids Sea Camp in prior years and is 8 is very capable of doing Seal Team and ready.  Any child that is 8 and a good swimmer and snorkeler is ready.  Any child 8 years old that wants to do Seal Team and is excited about giving it a shot and is not being pushed  has full approval and can do Seal Team.  It's all about the kids having fun and being happy with what they are doing.  I am also very okay, if a child attempts Seal Team and is not happy. They will be allowed to switch to SASY. 

Q. What is the SASY program all about?

A. Snorkeling with scuba for kids age 4 and up.

Q. Who is Margo?

A. A lady from Cape Cod who grew up in her Dad's shadow as a diver and followed his love of the ocean and wants to continue to share this love with her kids and yours. Learn more about us

Q. How many days is the camp?

A. 7 nights 6 days. Arrival is on Saturday. The first day of camp is Sunday and the last day of camp is the following Friday with departure on Saturday. Camp hours vary per destination.

Q. What's included?

A. Each destination is different, please . Kids Stay free, so room rates are based on adults only. Tank, weights and belts for adult divers. Airport Transfers. Please see package information on our web or ask Margo or Emily for more information.

Q. What's not included?

A. Departure tax, dive staff or camp staff tips, some meals, rental gear on adult dive packages and airfare.

Q. Do I need to buy or rent a diveskin and fins for my child? Can I rent equipment at Kids Sea Camp?

A. All the kids gear is included. You don't have to bring anything.
Rentals are available, but not necessary.

Q. Can I stay at another property and have my child attend the camp?

A. No, this is not possible. All participants stay at the host resort. This provides a safe, easy, fun and secure vacation for your child.

Q. Are passports required?

A. At this day and age, I highly recommend it. Bonaire will, however, accept a birth certificate and valid ID.

Q. What if my child wants to switch programs once we are there?

A. The most important mission of this camp is to make sure our kids are happy. If for any reason, they would like to switch programs, and it is the first or second day, we will make every effort to do so.

Q. Our teen is booked as a teen diver as you recommended. I just wanted to make sure its okay for him/her to dive with the adults. My teen is pretty sure he wants to dive with us rather than the teen boat. He may also want to participate in some of the other teen activities however when not diving. Is this okay?

A. Yes, your teen can dive as he wishes. We want all the kids to be happy. They do not have to attend each day or go on separate boats. This is only as they wish.

Q. Are there any refunds for unused portions?

A. No, I am sorry. The camp is 100% NON-refundable.

Q. Should I get trip insurance?

A. Absolutely, I recommend this! We provide brochures for Access America or you can use your own, but when traveling with kids, I feel it is a must.

Q. What does my child need to bring?

A. We provide all gear for the kids, so you should plan on bringing sun block, bathing suits, and hats. Please let us know if there is a birthday happening so we can make a special event of it.

Q. Is there other aftercare or kid sitting available if parents need it?

A. Yes. The kids get to know the camp staff and feel very comfortable. They will make themselves available at a fee for extra hours.

Q. What form of payment do you accept?

A. All Major credit cards, we prefer Discover. Checks are also great. Travel agents and dive shops must pay by check.

Q. Should I mail or fax the paperwork that I received back to you or should I bring it with us when we come?

A. I would like you to bring this with you please. Faxing is a back-up and I am also ok with that.

Q. Our family tries to eat a lean healthy diet. Do you know if soy milk/tofu and other health foods are available on the island?

A. Yes these things are available to you.

Q. Are there any other destinations that you represent or other time periods that you sell?

Q. Can I book Kids Sea Camp through my travel agent or dive shop also?

A. Yes. This is available to all travel agents and dive shops.

Q. What is PADI Seal Team?

A. Seal Team is a PADI program that introduces kids to diving by taking them underwater in pools, maximum depth is 12 feet. Each meeting is called a Seal Team Mission, and they will learn the skills of the first confined session of the open water course, along with some underwater activities.
