Kids Sea Camp Bay Islands Anthony's Key Resort Activities

OTHER ACTIVITIES

There are as many activities as hours in the day that keep active travelers busy at Anthony's Key Resort. Scuba diving and snorkeling Roatan's sparkling waters are the main attractions but much more is available to curious guests. The Roatan Institute of Marine Sciences (RIMS) offers dolphin encounters and educational programs for adults and children. Certification and specialty courses are offered to divers and snorkelers through the resort's full-service, PADI 5-star dive facility. Underwater photographers can also enjoy the services of the photo shop.

Nature lovers can enjoy the resort's grounds by land or sea. Hikers can explore the nature trails at Bailey's Key and nearby Carambola Gardens. The natural history of the island is featured at the The Roatan Museum located near RIMS. Active guests can also participate in sea kayaking and canoeing, volleyball and horseback riding. Of course if all this gets to be too much, lazing in a hammock, one of the resorts more popular activities is always an option.

ABOUT HONDURAS

Tropical mountains blanket Honduras, a small, peaceful, Central American country bordered by Guatemala, El Salvador and Nicaragua. Dozens of rivers cascade down from the mountains to its wide Caribbean coast and narrow Pacific plain. Within the mountains' green canopies ancient Mayan ruins, pristine natural reserves, and whitewashed colonial villages can be found. All are easily accessible in this country that is only about the size of Tennessee. Just off the north coast lay the Bay Islands where divers and snorkelers indulge in the splendor of unspoiled coral reefs.

Settled by Spanish colonists, Honduras is also home to Native Americans, like the Mayan Indians, and descendents of Africans brought to the country as slaves. Spanish is the country's official language, but English is widely spoken.

With beautiful beaches, crystalline waters, untouched natural wonders and cultural encounters with ancient and colonial worlds, Honduras will satisfy the most active and adventurous travelers.
